Beth, I am so excited to hear how well things went with Show Me and your iPads! Show Me sounds like a great solution to your problem. I think I will have to download it on my iPad and play around with it. One thing that I really connected with in terms of your challenges was the handwriting with your finger. I encountered a similar problem using an online whiteboard, but was unable to find as great a solution as you did with a stylus. Maybe there is a way for me to use my iPad to do something similar. I look forward to hearing about where you will go next with this project! Good luck! Sarah
Since I don't have an iPad I really appreciate the pictures that you shared in your blog. They give me a really good idea about the format of the ShowMe Application and what can be done with it. I will be keeping this App in mind if I end up at a school district with iPads or if I get one for myself one in the future!
I completely agree with you that there are not too many softwares out there that are compatible with the Mac. I am really glad that you were able to find the ShowMe application. It sounds like an effective way to demonstrate math concepts to the students. I am considering to download it myself. It could be something that I can incorporate into my e-lessons. I am also thinking that it could be personalized and geared specifically to confusions/misunderstandings/problems that students are having while studying a new concept in the classroom.
